Description
Spellbound are a charity that specialises in public speaking courses throughout the UK. They aim to make voices truly heard by giving people the tools to master the key principles of public speaking.

They came to us to launch an identity that established themselves as experts in their field, as well as helping to attract the right people to the cause, those that wanted to improve their self confidence.

Solution
We partnered with the Spellbound team to create a simple identity centred around the idea of ‘building voices’, creating visual system that places the speaker centre stage and empowers the very words that fill the room.

We worked closely with the team to create assets that were accessible, understandable and versatile so they could stand up and start speaking to their audience.

The Spellbound icon

The brand mark had to be bold and instantly voice what the charity was about, and what better device than speech marks.

To give distinct character and ownability, the mark rises in both scale and angle, representing both the idea of voices being projected and growing in confidence as you go through Spellbunds course. 

The negative space inside the mark is also used to reveal what we dubbed ‘magic moments’, an homage to the Spellbound name.



The brand system

Keeping the brand assets simple was key in the success of Spellbound in taking their next steps as a charity. 

We developed a graphic language that further utilised the brands speech marks, using them as a container for all content, keeping Spellbound’s people front and centre.
